His background in knowledge visualization and user experience encompasses a lifelong interest in making software easier to use across a wide range of leading-edge as well as consumer applications.

His first company was a pioneer in the field of computer graphics, image processing and scientific visualization. It was sold to a public company. He served as a business strategy advisor for a second software startup, specializing in database to Internet middleware, that was sold to Microsoft.
